The first institution of its kind in the region, the school was founded to train a new generation of interdisciplinary artists and creative media professionals, and to develop new ideas and technologies for the creative industries in Hong Kong, mainland China. and abroad. Students are trained in disciplines spanning computer science, visual arts and design, creative writing, cultural studies, and digital technology. We are looking for scholars in the humanities, media and cultural studies, and/or philosophy of technology, with expertise in one or more of the following topics: digital/new media, computer games, film and television, internet, cinema, animation , electronic music, intermediality, performance, interactive/electronic art, science and technology, software.

Homework: The appointee will teach core postgraduate courses in a well-established curriculum with a unique focus on the overlap of media and cultural studies, new media theory and philosophy of technology, as well as elective courses in their field specific specialty and some undergraduate courses.

Terms: A PhD in related disciplines, with previous teaching experience and a strong academic record. Given the School’s emphasis on technological literacy, we welcome applicants whose work demonstrates a critical awareness of the technological underpinnings of their objects of study and/or applicants who use digitally enhanced methodologies in their studies.

Salary and conditions of service

Total compensation will be determined by market competitiveness and individual performance. Excellent benefits include gratuities, time off, medical and dental plans, and relocation assistance (if applicable). The first appointment will be on a fixed-term contract.
