Intercultural and interdisciplinary humanities as an area of strength at EdUHK: from internationalization to regional leadership
[Appointment Period: 12 months]
The Department of Literature and Cultural Studies is seeking a postdoctoral fellow to strengthen the department’s ongoing and developing initiatives in the area of digital humanities. These focus on literary and historical research with GIS, computational approaches to literary and philological research, and teaching and learning with technology. During the appointment period, the appointee will present their work at the departmental seminar series, produce at least one research output of article length or a comparable digital project, and support the development projects of the teaching, knowledge transfer, and departmental community service (if applicable). They will also help teach the department’s interdisciplinary introduction to digital humanities (and/or other courses as appropriate).
The applicant must have either
- a PhD related to information technology, with evidence of collaboration with scholars in the humanities or
- a PhD in a humanities field with evidence of conducting research related to digital humanities.
In addition to the required application documents, applicants must submit
- a detailed cover letter describing previous experiences related to digital humanities;
- a two-page summary of the work they would like to undertake during their internship;
- evidence of successful teaching experience.
This is a fixed-term postdoctoral fellowship, intended for an early-career researcher in the fields of literary, historical or cultural studies. The appointment will be for a period of 12 months, with the possibility of renewal subject to mutual agreement. Candidates must have a PhD in a related discipline in hand at the start date.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
