Job description: Lecturer in classical culture and mythologies

Responsibilities:

  • Semester modules of undergraduate courses in classical culture and mythologies.
  • Postgraduate course modules in classical culture and mythologies.
  • Develop study guides.
  • Prepare and score assessments.
  • Manage tutors.
  • Perform administrative tasks.
  • Promote courses in classical culture and mythologies at the university.
  • Supervise postgraduate research dissertations.
  • Conduct research and publish in accredited journals.

Minimum requirements:

  • A doctorate/master’s degree with significant progress towards a doctorate in classics or a related discipline.

Skills and behavioral attributes: ·

  • Competence in curriculum development.
  • Competence in the development of assessment.

Recommendations:

  • Proficiency in Blackboard or related online teaching platform.
  • Specialization in mythology or ancient culture.
  • Two years of experience teaching classics or a related discipline.
  • One year experience in postgraduate supervision.
  • PhD in Classics or related discipline.
