The Town of Millbrook is pleased to announce the hiring of Danae Morgan as the town’s first Director of Cultural Arts and Special Events. New position for the City, the Director of Cultural Arts and Special Events will be responsible for the development and delivery of a variety of public arts and cultural programs, as well as other special events throughout the year . This will be accomplished by fostering partnerships with community groups, non-profit organizations, schools, businesses, foundations and cultural organizations.
“We are thrilled to add Danae to our staff to not only take our existing events to the next level, but also to introduce new programming that will involve art, music, festivals, performances and much more,” said Millbrook Mayor Al Kelley. “We want to bring people together and improve that aspect of quality of life that our citizens want and value. As we continue to work on developing our downtown for economic purposes, cultural arts and special events will become a key factor in our success.

Danae Morgan has been a lifelong lover of the arts and is delighted to bring her decades of experience creating cultural opportunities and new events to Millbrook as Director of Cultural Arts – Special Events. Danae has over 23 years of arts administration experience gained through her tenure with the City of Montgomery’s Cultural Affairs and Parks and Recreation Departments. Most recently, she served as Director of Cultural Arts at Montgomery. In this role, she also served as executive director of the Montgomery Arts Council and director of the Armory Learning Arts Center. During her time in the city of Montgomery, she spearheaded many exciting new arts initiatives, but she takes pride most in her work supporting individual artists and providing a wide variety of events and community arts classes.
Originally from Florida, Danae grew up in the small town of Pace, Florida. After living in Germany and traveling in Europe in her early twenties, Danae returned to the South, where she graduated from the University of Troy, earning a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Management.
In 1990 she moved to Millbrook, where she raised her two children while lovingly restoring their historic home. Believing that the arts bring people together and positively impact a community, Danae looks forward to diving in and creating new cultural events, opportunities and experiences for people of all ages in her hometown of Millbrook.

Danae’s office will be located in the Millbrook Economic Development Center along with the town’s Economic Development Department and Millbrook Area Chamber of Commerce offices.
